The Nevado del ruiz and its relationship with armero

The Nevado del Ruiz is an active volcano located in Colombia, in the Andes mountain range. It is part of the Los Nevados National Natural Park and is located in the central region of the country, in the department of Caldas. With a height of 5,321 meters above sea level, it is one of the highest volcanoes in Colombia. The volcano is mainly known for its catastrophic eruption that occurred on November 13, 1985, which caused an avalanche of mud and debris which descended down the slopes of the volcano and destroyed the city of Armero, causing one of the greatest natural tragedies in the history of Colombia, with thousands of people dead.
